Luang Prabang Province is located in the norther of Laos. It’s very popular city and it’s the first city for foreigners to think about to visit when they arrive Laos.

There are many interesting places to visit in Luang Prabang, These are the top 10 places to visit in this beautiful and peaceful province.

1.Xieng Thong Temple: is located on the Souvanhnakhamphong Road by the Mekong River, It is considered as the most historically impressive temple among Luang Prabang’s ornate ones. The Temple is a Royal temple built by King Setthathirath in 1559 on the banks of the Mekong river. It is one of the few temples that was not destroyed from the enemy invasion. One significant religious emblem of the Buddhist architecture, It is truly a masterpiece of mosaics and carved wood featuring traditional Lao style on the temple wall. 2.Phousi Hill (Phou Si Mountain): is a small mountain in the center of Luang Prabang, located between the Mekong and Nam Khan rivers. We can see 360 Degree views of Luang Prabang by standing on the top of the Mountain.

3.The Royal Palace Museum: is the last Palace of Laotian Royalty turned into a museum. It’s located on the banks of the Mekong river, facing the Phou Si Mountain.

4.Green Jungle Park: is very natural park with green trees and grasses . Garden with more than 1,500 species of flower. It’s about 45 minutes south of Luang Prabang. 5.Tham Ting Cave (Pak Ou Caves): is located at Ban Pak Ou from Luang Prabang about 30 kilometers along the road no.:13 north through the village Bann Chang Hai and take boat to Ban Pak Ou. another way you can take a boat to Wat Xieng Thong, the boat trip takes about 1.5 hours. 7.Tad Kuang Si Falls: is one of the highlights – if not THE highlight – of Luang Prabang. It’s 23 km from town and takes approximately 45 minutes by tuk-tuk.

8.Tad Sae Waterfalls: is about 20 kilometers from Luang Prabang, going south to Vientiane.

9.Morning Market: is near the Royal Palace Museum, 3 minutes walking. It is the Laotian market, where they sell their fresh fruit, vegetables, meat, and variety local products.

10.Night Market: everyday opens 5.00pm until 11.00pm. It’s the place where locals and tourists come together to converse, shop and eat all in one location.
